What is Vapour Blasting?
I’ll save you from googling this with a very simple description: Vapour blasting is a non-destructive mean of cleaning and degreasing engine parts and components. It leaves a finer finish that conventional cleaning methods and is more thorough.
What is the difference between Vapour Blasting and Sand Blasting?
The clue is in the title. Vapour blasting uses mostly water with compressed air and mediums, such as glass beading or aluminium. This is a gentle and safe process of cleaning and polishing a surface or component.
Whereas sand blasting uses hard abrasives materials to prepare metal work and remove paint, rust and other contaminants. This is a much more intense process and not suited to delicate engine components.
How much will it cost?
Vapour blasting is a bespoke service and items are priced based on the size, and severity of the blasting required. However, for a rough guide check out our Price List. There are steps that you can take to reduce the cost, such as providing items that have been degreased and stripped of paint ahead me receiving them. Rest assured that the prices are competitive for the level of service and quality I provide.
How long will it take?
I aim to turnaround an item on the day of arrival. This is dependent on the time it is received, and the level of preparation needed prior to blasting. If you are sending your item in the post, the turnaround time will be dependent on postage times and these could vary.
How do i post my item?
If you can’t drop your item(s) off in person, then sending them insured via Royal Mail is perfectly fine. I recommend packaging your item(s) carefully with plenty of padding. Packaging that is reusable is preferable.
